One of the strengths of Instagram is its filters, something that users of the social network have used for years, but it’s been some time since new ones have been added.
That changes today, December 16, though, as Instagram has officially unveiled five brand new photo filters for its users for the first time in almost two years. The five new additions bump up the total amount of filters to 24, while the new filters are as follows: Aden, Perpetua, Ludwig, Slumber, and Crema.
For the 300 million monthly active users on the social network, these new photo filters will more than likely be a welcomed addition to the palette of choices.
The app’s update also includes a change to the way that filters are displayed for choosing, too. Now, when a user applies a filter, each filter preview at the bottom of the display will showcase a blurred preview of the photo the filter is being applied to. This should make picking the right filter for the photo quicker and easier.
The updated Instagram is version 6.4.0, and Instagram says it’s available now in the App Store. (The web preview has not been updated as of the time of this writing.) Instagram is still free, and a download link to the app is just below.
