Twitter is rolling out landscape support inside its official iOS app for those with an iPhone 6 Plus. The new view brings a number of nice advantages, including the ability to see all messages while reading or replying to another.
The new view is rolling out in phases to 6 Plus owners, 9to5Mac reports, so while some will see it right away, others will have to wait. It doesn’t bring any improvements when looking at your timeline — if anything it actually makes the experience worse — but it is handy elsewhere.
In the Messages view, for instance, Twitter will display a list of message threads in a pane on the left while you read and reply to another on the right — just like in Apple’s built-in Messages app. It also lets you see cover photos in all their glory when viewing profiles.
The landscape view certainly isn’t perfect, but it’s nice to have, and Twitter could well make improvements to it before it reaches all users. In the meantime, lookout for the update on the App Store if you’re a 6 Plus owner.
